  1. Thanks a lot for sharing!!
I already had the Feiyu stabalizer and GoPro so I also purchased the RAM mount and Clamp.
One question, the carabiner is a bit too thin for the clamp. I think I saw in your video that you added some plastic around the clamp. (guessing it's to make the clamp firmly attached to the carabiner) could you comment on that plastic thingy you added? no such thing came with the Manfrotto clamp I ordered...

    2. Hi Thomas! Thank-you for your support. I wrap the jaws of the clamp with silicone rubber self fusing tape: http://amzn.to/2oFr4Jy

  3. Hello Brett,

thank you for sharing the list of your equipment.
Why are you not using the Clamp from Ram (Tough Claw) ?
Is it not as stiff as the Manfrotto Nano Clamp ?
Is it correct that you have an thread adapter below the gimbal ?

    Cheers

    Thomas

    1. Hi Thomas,

The Tough Claw does not close small enough to grip typical carabiners on paragliding harnesses. Also, it is much larger than the Nano Clamp. Yes, there is a 1/4"-20 thread below the gimbal handle.

      Good luck!

    2. Thanks Brett.
I got the Nano Clamp. Fits perfect. I use the 1” ball instead of the Tough-Ball. I was just curious whether you use bigger thread of the gimbal handle. But now it's clear :-)

By the way do you get a lot of clashes of the gimbal axes when you thermal and have it fixed to an object ?

      Cheers Thomas

    3. Hi Thomas,

The G4S has more clearance so clashes are not an issue but the G5 is more compact, ie. the GoPro can not rotate 360 degrees in every axis. In this case you have to be more careful by turning shallow and/or adjusting the handle of the gimbal to be still vertical when you are turning.

      Good luck!

This one looks like it could work well instead of the nano clamp, with less chance of snagging lines.

    1. Hi Omer! That would be a useful solution if you will always fly with the same harness. I use that part with my larger gimbal assemblies. The quality is really high.
